Auto Repair Near Rouzan in Baton Rouge

Your neighbors a mile down Perkins Road

Rouzan is one of the newest neighborhoods on Perkins Road, and Gordon & Sandifer is one of the oldest names on it. We have been a family-owned auto repair shop in Baton Rouge since 1956, about 3 to 8 minutes from your door. Newer homes often mean newer cars, with cameras in the windshield and sensors in the bumpers. Those cars still need brakes, suspension work and, now and then, repair after a crash. We handle all of it under one roof, including the calibration that gets your safety systems aiming straight again. You’ll hear what we found, what needs attention now and what can wait, and we start only when you say yes. That’s how a shop stays on the same road for seventy years.

Rouzan neighbors get a family shop with 70 years on Perkins Road

Gordon & Sandifer has been family owned and operated on Perkins Road since 1956, now in its third generation. We’ve been BBB Accredited since 1967. ASE certified technicians and I-CAR certified collision technicians work side by side, so the car that comes in after a wreck leaves with the body and the mechanical side both fixed.

Customers describe us as honest, with fair and consistent prices and no upselling. Many have stayed with us 20 or 30 years. When a new neighborhood grows up down the street, we’d like to be the shop those families keep for the next 30.

Services Rouzan drivers lean on include collision repair, ADAS calibration, suspension and brakes

After a crash, our collision repair team fixes the body, frame and paint and checks the mechanical parts a hit can damage. We help you through the insurance claim and keep you updated. You can choose the shop that repairs your car, and you don’t have to accept a shop you didn’t pick.

Lane-keeping cameras, emergency braking radar and blind spot sensors need to aim where the car is actually pointing. ADAS calibration puts them back on target after a windshield, bumper, collision or alignment job. Call us with your year, make and model and we’ll tell you what your car needs.

Potholes and patched pavement are hard on struts, ball joints and tie rods. Our suspension and steering repair tracks down clunks, bounce and wander, then finishes with an alignment so the tires wear evenly.

Stop-and-go traffic along Perkins Road and College Drive keeps brakes busy. Our brake repair covers pads, rotors, calipers, hoses and fluid. For a longer job, leave the car after hours on your way home and we’ll call you in the morning.

Rouzan is about 3 to 8 minutes from the shop by Arrowhead Street, Lee Drive and Perkins Road

From Rouzan, our shop is about 1.2 miles away, usually a 3 to 8 minute drive. Take Arrowhead Street to Lee Drive, then Perkins Road to 3825 Perkins Rd. That’s close enough to bring the car in on your way to work and still be at your desk on time.

If you’d rather not wait, use our after-hours drop-off. Leave the keys on your way home in the evening and we’ll call you the next morning with an estimate.

Does my car need ADAS calibration after a fender bender near Rouzan?

It might. If the hit touched the windshield, front bumper, grille, mirrors or rear bumper, the cameras or radar behind them may now aim slightly off. Warning lights or a system that acts strange after a repair are common signs. Carmakers publish when calibration is required, and we follow those requirements.

Calibration can happen in the shop with targets, on a road drive or both, depending on the car. Because we do the collision repair and the calibration in the same building, your car doesn’t need a second trip across town to get its safety systems working again.

Rouzan grew from a long-debated plan into a mixed-use neighborhood on Perkins Road

Rouzan is a roughly 120-acre traditional neighborhood development on the south side of Perkins Road near Glasgow. It was planned with homes, shops, offices and a village center. It has grown into one of the newer neighborhoods along the Perkins Road corridor.

New owners restarted construction in 2018, and local news said the project could help revitalize the Perkins Road and College Drive corridor over a build-out of more than ten years. The developers offered a site for the parish library’s long-awaited South Branch.

That branch, an 18,800 square foot library on Glasgow Avenue, had its soft opening in March 2025. Sprouts Farmers Market is nearby too, so a lot of daily errands happen within a few blocks.

How much does collision repair cost near Rouzan?

Collision repair cost depends on the damage, the parts, the paint and whether sensors need calibration afterward. You get a clear estimate before any work starts. Once panels come off, we sometimes find hidden damage, and we explain any change and work it through with your insurance company before going further.

Most of our collision work goes through insurance, and we act as your advocate during the claim. We keep you informed from the first photo to the final paint check, so you always know where your car stands.

Potholes after heavy rain near Rouzan can knock suspension and steering out of shape

Local news has reported potholes showing up more often after heavy rain, and Louisiana ranks among the worst states for road conditions. A hard hit can damage a strut, bend a tie rod or loosen a ball joint. A clunk over bumps or a car that wanders in its lane is worth a look.

Rough pavement also loosens sway bar links and wears out wheel bearings over time. A hum that grows louder with speed often points to a bearing, and a rattle over small bumps is often a link. We inspect the suspension, show you which parts are worn and which still have life in them, and fix only what you approve.

Expert tip: After any hard pothole hit, take a slow drive on a straight, empty road. If the steering wheel sits crooked or the car drifts, have the suspension and alignment checked before the tires start wearing unevenly.
